Analysis & aesthetic description
There is a certain magic in working with materials that come from the sea. Driftwood speaks in its own way: its forms, marks, and textures tell something of where it has been and of what transformed it before it reached the beach.
That is how I found this sea horse: in plain sight of everyone and, at the same time, of no one. It did not appear complete. It arrived in pieces. I gathered each fragment while imagining how it could belong to a single body, until what had been scattered began to recognize itself as one creature.
“I am only giving shape to caprice.”
